This is my first post on this blog, so, welcome.
I've decided to start writing about the research myself and others do (and publish) in the area of Neuroscience. However, I decided to write my posts for the for the non-scientist, as a way of informing the public about the kind of research we are doing and what does it mean for you.
Scientific journalism sometimes embellishes the findings to sell. Not in this case. The idea is for people to understand that scientific advancement is usually difficult, slow, in need of economical funding, but overall highly interesting and needed for humanity to keep thriving.
This is also a sleazy attempt to publicise my own research, which according to a PLoS ONE article, is one way of getting the message through. I think what I do is important and I should be able to convince you, unless of course I'm totally wrong and I should drop everything and sniff gasoline until the aliens come for us.
Again, welcome.
